Grown as a perennial herb, Lovage will establish a deep root system in it's initial year of growth. It will wilt on the surface with the first killing frost, and then later use it's root system to regrow the following year, when all danger of frost has passed. The leaves are large and green, while it's flowers are small and yellowish green in appearance. The plants will bloom in the late Spring and can last through the summer months as well. Seeds can be collected from the plants when they bolt and dry out.
