Texas Instruments (TI) introduced the industry's smallest 16-bit Δ-Σ analog to digital converter (ADC), the converter integrates a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a reference voltage, a temperature sensor and 4-input multiplexer. The ADS1118 measures only 2 mm * 1.5 mm, compared with the industry's existing 16-bit ADC, it is smaller than 65%. In the temperature range of 0~65'C, ADS1118 can ensure the realization of the direct linear measurement of less than 0.5 °C uncalibrated error, compared with competing solutions, the performance of the sharp rise of 75%. In addition, it is called the industry's lowest power 16-bit ADC, supports built-in internal reference, can support up to 860 samples per second data rate.
Features: Measure temperature of K-type thermocouple; Accuracy is less than 1'C; High accuracy and repetable; Includes cold junction compensation and software algorithm; Adopts ADS1118 16-bit ADC (with PGA)
